The auto market is gradually gaining momentum, as the COVID-19 pandemic situation improves. The auto market’s remaining portion of 2021 will be interesting because of the anticipated launches of new products by companies. The SUV market has seen a lot of attention in recent years. With the introduction of mini-SUVs as well as cross-overs, this segment has only grown. The buyers could have more options with a number of launches expected before Diwali.
Here’s a list of SUV launches that are likely to occur before Diwali
Mahindra XUV 700
Mahindra is known for exceeding customers’ expectations when it comes to SUVs. Mahindra will unveil its new Mahindra XUV 700, a fully loaded SUV from India. It includes safety alerts, driver drowsiness detection, smart door handles and a panoramic sunroof. Although the official launch date has not yet been confirmed by Mahindra, several spy photos of the test vehicles have been shared online. The XUV 700 will come in two turbo petrol engines, 2.2-litre turbo diesels, and a manual or automatic transmission.
Tata has been trying to increase its market presence by launching several new cars in recent times. Another addition to this list could be the HBX mini SUV, which is expected soon. The mini SUV will likely be powered by a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine with 86 PS and 113Nm peak torque. It is based on Tata’s ALFA platform. People shared several spy photos of the HBX mini taken during its test runs online. However, the company has not yet revealed details about the design and looks.
In India, Volkswagen will also be launching its mid-size SUV Taigun. The MQB A0 IN platform that was used to launch the Skoda Kushaq will also be used for the SUV. Both SUVs will share the same engine configurations, which include a 1 Litre TSI petrol option and a 1.5-litre Tsi petrol option. Although the engine configuration of Taigun is identical to Kushaq’s, the vehicle will have a few differences in terms of looks and other convenience features.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus
The Mahindra Bolero, one of the most loved SUVs on Indian roads is expected to receive a Bolero Neo Plus variant. It will be a 9-seater SUV and have a larger dimension than the Bolero Neo. The Mahindra TUV 300 plus was originally planned for the launch of this vehicle. The Bolero Neo Plus will be available with a 2.2-litre turbodiesel variant and a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox.
MG Motor plans to increase its presence in India with the launch a new mid-size SUV, which will be called the ‘Astor. The company is not revealing details about the launch or the SUV’s features, but the MG Astor will be available in two engine options for the international market. One is a 1.5L NA Petrol engine that produces 115 PS of power with 150 Nm peak torque and 115 PS of peak power. The second engine option is a 1.0L turbo petrol which produces a maximum output of 112 PS.
